What our Customers say about Mossie’s Irish Tours

Christine K
“From the moment we stepped into Mossie’s spotless nine-passenger van for our 4 hour tour, we were greeted by his warm welcoming energy. His voice, clear and strong, carried through the van with the help of a speaker system-especially appreciated by one of us with a hearing issue. It was a dreary day and within minutes we forgot all about the weather and were totally fascinated by Mossie’s wealth of knowledge and masterful storytelling. It was an amazing day filled with beautiful sights, Irish history, poetry and song.”

“Mossie was a courteous and engaging guide on our tour of the Ring of Kerry. We were only in Kerry for a short time and during winter so the daylight hours were shorter but with his help we never felt rushed. Pick-up, rest stops, scenic stops, and drop off back at our lodgings were all simple and easy. He was an utter professional, knowledgeable, and ensured we had a wonderful day. We were able to fully enjoy the cliffs and views of Skellig, along with most everything else the ring has to offer, thanks to being able to safely access smaller roads. Would recommend him to anyone and can’t wait to return for an exploration of the Dingle peninsula!”

“If you do anything in Dingle, BOOK THIS TOUR! Don’t drive the Slea Head Peninsula yourself, it is so worth the money and we learned so much. I cannot begin to express how fun and amazing the tour was. We had Mossie as our driver, and he picked us up at our Airbnb, and dropped us off at a lunch spot he recommended in town at the end. He is so incredibly knowledgeable about the area and all the spots we went to. My husband and married friends had been in Europe for 2 weeks at this point, at this tour was the biggest highlight and our most favorite thing we did. “

“Having Mossie as our guide for a three-day private tour of Kerry and Dingle proved to be the highlight of our entire trip to Ireland. His extensive local and historical knowledge combined with his flexible, easygoing approach allowed us to trust in his every recommendation, while still maintaining the ability to tailor each day to our own pace and interests (including seeing several sites that the big tour buses cannot reach). And his charming wit and sparkling conversation along the way made him a most welcome and memorable addition to our family vacation. It was truly a pleasure getting to know him — I couldn’t imagine touring Ireland with anyone else!”

“Mossie was our hero because he showed up last minute after a previously booked tour bailed and left us stranded. We’re so glad he did. He was the best! Diving the Ring of Kerry is not always relaxing, but not to worry with Mossie. He showed us all the amazing sights in complete comfort , explaining the rich history of the area , enjoyed a spiritual group at Staigue Fort and special service at Kerry Cliffs for a bad knee. “

“Fantastic day in the magical Dingle peninsula. Helen was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable about history, landscape, culture, and all things mystical in Dingle. This was my second visit here and I learned so much more about it and it enjoyed it even more with an experienced guide. She tailored the day to our interests and was patient and accommodating with my photographic impulses to stop (safely) on a dime so I could get the perfect shot!
My partner and I both thoroughly enjoyed our day experiencing Dingle with Helen. It was a Perfect day!
Will do it again!
Thanks Helen!”

“Our family group of 7 ranged in age from 9 to 80. We were lucky enough to spend a full day tour with Mossie. He is a very popular and sought-after guide, and with good reason. He is a native of the area, but has traveled the world and is erudite about the world in general. Mossie is a natural story teller and made the history of Ireland entertaining and interesting to our varied age group. To top it off he sang a few Irish folk songs for us as were traveling along. He has a beautiful voice, and when asked, he admitted to singing local pubs from time to time.”

“My experience with Mossie’s Tours was nothing short of exceptional! Our guide, Mossie, was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. He went above and beyond to tailor the tour to our interests providing fascinating insights and anecdotes that brought the destination to life.
The itinerary was perfectly balanced, offering a mix of iconic sights and hidden gems that we would never have discovered on our own. The transportation was very comfortable adding to the stress-free experience.I cannot recommend Mossie’s Tours enough.”

“Do NOT pass this up! Our 3 generation family (ages 5-75) was fortunate enough to experience Dingle through Mossie. Mossie has so many hidden and thoughtful tricks up his sleeve; he connects with every single person in a special way, and makes sure all preferences are accommodated – from archeological conversations to holding baby lambs to renewing vows.”

We had a wonderful morning with Mossie. He is a very experienced guide — funny, knowledgeable, great conversationalist and kept a relaxed pace with lots of time for us to enjoy each stop. He showed us lots of beautiful places that we enjoyed all the more for not having to worry about driving the narrow roads. We loved touring with Mossie and very highly recommend!!

“Helen, our guide, was excellent in taking us to “hallowed” places such as a sacred spring/well as well as a potter’s shop that I had seen online. The four hours flew by within this breathtaking yet comforting area of Ireland. Her kindness and knowledge was appreciated.”

“We had a wonderful 4-hour tour with Mossie on the Dingle Peninsula. He mixed history with charming commentary about the people and places of the area. We were thankful for his driving skills so we could all just enjoy the beautiful scenery! Thank you, Mossie, for making Dingle even more special!”

“Helen was wonderful. She picked us up at Murphys’ Bed and Breakfast in the pouring rain. She showed us the lookout on Conor’s pass so we could come back later. It was too foggy to see anything. Then we headed on the Slea Head road. What a beautiful drive. Helen showed us Skellig Michael (Star Wars) location and all of the locations spots where they shot “Ryan’s Daughter”.
My dad has Alzheimer’s and sat in the front with Helen asking the same questions over and over and she was patient and wonderful. We really appreciated that.
Highly recommend trip with Helen!!!”

“My wife and I did the full day private tour of the Dingle peninsula with Helen. She was incredibly knowledgeable and kind and answered all of our questions and provided some excellent recommendations for places to eat, hear live music, and to include as part of the tour. She then customized the tour to fit our interests in the history and culture of the peninsula and took us to some truly beautiful and memorable locations – we did Conor Pass (thank goodness she was driving!) and visited the Dingle Crystal workshop and got to learn about the crystal making process. We also were able to visit a bronze age settlement and learn about medieval construction techniques! Plus, we also got to hold baby lambs, which is always a delight. Helen’s expertise and knowledge of the area helped us avoid tourist traps and prioritize local gems that take pride in their community and allowed us to really experience Dingle. By the end of the tour, we knew we would have to return to Dingle and spend a much longer time in the town and go on yet another tour with Helen again in the future. We could not have been happier with the tour and we are truly grateful for everything Helen was able to do for us. 10/10 would highly highly recommend!”

“I cannot say enough of this Tour and the guide Mossie Scanlon. A native of Dingle, his personal story became the story of Dingle and enriched a wonderful day. You will feel immensely comfortable with Mossie and feel like you have known him your whole life. The peninsular tour included a narrative of the flora and fauna which was beautiful, Celtic archeology and everyday life for Celts, Christians and the common man. The landscape is second to none. I highly recommend this tour.”

“Mossie brought so much insight, knowledge and fun to the Dingle Peninsula drive. Since he grew up in the Dingle area, he brought in many personal stories about the area. Thank goodness that he was driving, as that left us to view the amazing scenery. He also was able to get into so many beautiful spots, that we never could have gotten to. Highly recommend this Tour!!”

“What a wonderful day spent with Mossie on our tour through Dingle!
We were picked up from our BnB in Killarney and regaled with historical facts and funny anecdotes on the hour long drive to Dingle area. We visited Connors Pass and drove Slea Head Drive. We learned about the beehive huts and snuggled some baby lambs! All along the ride Mossie provided amazing commentary and answered all of our questions about the area. He catered the tour to our interests and took us to many historical ruins that we hadn’t even heard of! By the end of the day we felt like we had made a new friend!”
