Slea Head Drive
Dingle Peninsula
This stunning drive takes in the archipelago of the Blasket Islands, Ireland’s most westerly point, and the great expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Slea Head Drive is one of Ireland’s most scenic coastal routes, located on the western edge of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. This 46-kilometre loop road offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Blasket Islands, rugged cliffs, and rolling green hills. As part of the Wild Atlantic Way, the drive begins and ends in the town of Dingle, winding through charming villages like Ventry, Dunquin, and Ballyferriter. Along the way, visitors can explore early Christian sites, ancient beehive huts (clocháns), and admire dramatic seascapes that have featured in films such as Ryan’s Daughter and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
